If anything, the Pulse Rifle is arguably the weakest weapon in the game, but that doesn't make it "bad". The Pulse Rifle also feels really inefficient because it has a hard time staggering tougher Necromorphs. I know you can do some shenanigans with its secondary fire and Kinesis, but it just wasn't my flavor. Its damage isn't the most impressive, ammo takes up a lot of slots, and its secondary fire is hard to use. The secondary fire on it is crazy strong, its primary fire can quickly carve enemies up, and I always seemed to get a healthy supply of ammo for it.įor the weapon I liked the least, however, it'd be the Line Gun. My second favorite would be the Contact Beam. Only drawbacks are that some enemies like the Dividers, Brutes, and the Hunter are highly resistant to fire, and you can't use it in vacuum (despite that, scientifically, a hydrazine-based flamethrower could work in space). Excellent damage, very cost-efficient, and the fire wall secondary is awesome for when you're under pressure and need to hunker down in a corner. In the remake, however, it is phenomenal when you fully upgrade it. In the original DS1, it was a piece of crap because burn damage wasn't properly programmed for most Necromorphs. If I had to pick my favorite, it'd be the Flamethrower. ![]() ![]() The remake did a good job with the weapons, making all of them feel powerful when used properly. ![]()
