![]() ![]() ![]() Throw in some oversized, chunky styling and a lack of Wii Sports-esque launch title to instantly convey the product’s appeal and it comes as little surprise that Wii U was a commercial failure, and one all the more painful following the unprecedented success of its immediate predecessor. The name was a point of confusion, too, with some people assuming that it was some sort of add-on peripheral for the original Wii (quite understandably given the strategic focus of pre-release materials on the GamePad while the new console was tucked away out of view). Chiefly, Nintendo failed to properly communicate the hardware’s unique potential to the game-playing public - a mistake the company was careful avoid repeating with Switch. Enjoy!ĭespite our affection for the console, there’s no denying that Wii U had its share of issues from the very beginning. As we look back and collectively take stock of a pretty eventful and turbulent decade, we’re republishing this Top 50 article in celebration of a console for which we’ve still got a lot of affection. here I unfortunately offer you a silent forwarder I'm afraid!!! (I just like the start up sounds!!)Īll paths point to - sd:/wiiu/apps/sonicmania/sonicmania.Today marks 10 years since the launch of the Wii U in North America. The best I can get is a 12 second sample that loops all the way to game boot. I used a 40 second music clip that didn't play at all so I shortened it lesser and lesser and the same happened again. So my last effort was to test the limit of this. So I made the track longer and with loop points that are silent but we then get an audible clipping all the way to game boot (it's a good 40 odd seconds for me) and that's worse than before. I wanted to use the std sonic ring sound but it decides to loop as soon as it ends all the way to game booting. I've been trying to make a forwarder for this but the boot sound has been giving me real problems. Okay, firstly many thanks to for the never ending assistance and also both for their patience last night!!! ![]()
